Rhinoceros + V-ray + Photoshop

Hi! I designed this unit for Talent Design Contest in Czech republic. This Unit contains bed (inside of the Unit), table and small bookcase. I was designed for students of architecture who stay at school for a few days, so they can have some little privacy here. It is suitable for architects working in studios situated inside of industrial halls. There is much more to say, it has a lot of cool features, but there is not enough space for that in here ;)

For those who are interested how I made this sleep unit: http://www.3dworldmag.com/2011/02/28/creating-a-winning-arch-viz-image/

Yes, Background is hdr image, ground plane is separate object with bulge transparency in V-ray.
Rendertime was very interesting – 2500 pix width took maybe 6 minutes on my quadcore.
Of course I had to make some shadows, glow effects and some other lightning effects in Photoshop to make it look like real and to be more “Integrated” as You said.

btw, I presume that the background is an HDR enviroment-map, but is the ground-plane a separate image (or object)…?

    Hmm, very well integrated, anyway…

“Now that 90% of the earth’s surface is covered with parking garages, we’ll just have to make do…”

no, it is not passed on :) Reflection surprisingly is correct! The side of the unit is not planar, but curved. That’s the reason why you don’t see the ground reflected in that surface!

Reflection does not match. As close as the Unit is to the ground you would see the light of the floor relected in the side (angle of incident) looks like it is passed on.

I like it, but something about the reflection on the pod seems odd. The garage wall doesn’t look as distressed in the reflection as it does on the actual wall and it the reflection seems low. Maybe its the curve of the pod throwing me off.
